FAYETTEVILLE SHALE BENEFITS GREATER THAN PREDICTED   


Yesterday’s Fayetteville Shale Play symposium at UCA in Conway was more educational than headline-making. One important point to note as provided by John Lyon with our content partner, the Arkansas News Bureau:

Kathy Deck, director of the Center for Business and Economic Research at the UA Walton College of Business, says her office plans to conduct another study of the economic impact from investments in the unconventional natural gas region. Deck says it appears likely that the total economic impact on the state in 2007, including tax revenue and ancillary benefits, will be about 35% higher than the $1.6 billion the center's study originally predicted.
